About the CISR Designation: The Certified Insurance Service Representative designation empowers outstanding individuals to provide exceptional account management and customer service.

This nationally recognized education program is designed for customer service representatives and includes nine practical courses focused on minimizing E&O claims and understanding the analysis of risks and exposures.

Some working knowledge of the applicable policies is required.

Hybrid class options

Hybrid Classes Provide In-Person and Virtual Attendance Options

Big I Michigan is pleased to offer two options for attending the same class: in-person or virtual.

To register for the option that works best for you, look for LIVE or WEBINAR in the program names on the class calendar. Both options qualify for CE when provided.

Hybrid option available for classes taking place at Big I Michigan headquarters.

In-Person Program Details

  • Registration Fee: $195 per module, CE included
  • Registration Closes: 2 days prior to class
  • Registration: 7:30 AM
  • Class: 8:00 AM - 5:15 PM
  • If Not Taking Exam: Class ends at 4:00 PM

Virtual Program Details

  • Registration Fee: $195 per module, CE included
  • Login Time: 7:30 AM, 30 minutes prior to class
  • Class Begins: 8:00 AM - 5:15 PM
  • Polling Questions: Attendees must complete all polling questions during class
  • If Not Taking Exam: Class ends at 4:00 PM
Cancellation Policy: For in-person classes, registrants who cancel will receive a 25% refund. No refunds will be given to those who attend part of a program or who are no-shows. If you do not cancel and do not attend, you will be considered a no-show and your registration fee will not be refunded or transferred to another class. For virtual programs, please contact Big I Michigan prior to the class if you need to cancel.

About the Exam

Online CISR exam

The CISR exam window begins at 4:15 PM the day of class and runs through Thursday at 11:59 PM CST the week following class.

The instructor or onsite coordinator will stay and proctor for those attending an in-person classroom course who would like to take the online exam the same day.

Participants who plan to take the exam onsite must bring their own electronic device. Equipment is not provided. The exam is approximately 4:15 PM to 5:15 PM, and a picture ID is required.

Earning the Designation

To earn the CISR designation, you must complete five courses and successfully pass the examination that follows each course within three calendar years following the year in which you pass your first exam.

To keep the designation, you must update each year with additional continuing education.
