About the CISR Designation

The Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation empowers outstanding individuals to provide exceptional account management and customer service. The Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR) designation program is a nationally recognized educational program for customer service representatives. This practical program includes 9 courses focused on minimizing E&O claims and understanding and analysis of risks and exposures. Some working knowledge of the applicable policies is required.

Big I Michigan is pleased to offer two options for attending the same class - in-person or virtual.* To register for the option that best works for you, look for LIVE or WEBINAR in the program names on our class calendar. Both qualify for CE when provided.

Cancellation Policy
If you must cancel your registration, you will receive a 25% refund. No refunds will be given to those who attend part of a program, or who are no-shows. If you do not cancel and do not attend the program, you will be considered a no show and no money will be refunded, nor will your money be transferred to a different class.

Online exam


About the Exam

The CISR exam window will be 4:15 PM the day of the class through Thursday at 11:59 PM CST the week following the class. The instructor/onsite coordinator will stay and proctor for those who attend a CISR in-person classroom course and would like to take the online exam on the day of the class. Those who would like to stay and take the exam will need to bring with them their own electronic devices. The equipment for taking the exam will not be provided to the participants.  Exam starts at approximately: 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. (picture ID required). For urgent exam issues, such as not being able to access your exam, please contact examhelp@scic.com.

Earning the Designation

To earn the CISR designation you must complete five courses and successfully pass the examination that follows each course within three calendar years following the year in which you pass your first exam. To keep the designation, you must update each year with additional continuing education.
